This was a muli-step, multi-day process that required sanding, staining, and sealing. This was chosen for the foyer over wallpaper because we let the architecture guide us. While we entertained the idea of wallpaper, there wasn’t a great place to stop the wallpaper as the walls at the end of the hall led into another room we wanted consistent wall color flow for. The floor pattern changed though at that break and clearly defined where the foyer ended, allowing us the opportunity to really highlight this amazing parquet floor giving it a classic checkerboard treatment with a twist!
